Emotions

Shame

The fear of being seen as you are

What it often means

Shame in a dream is heavier than guilt — not "I did something bad" but "I am bad." It often appears as exposure, smallness, or the wish to disappear. It marks the parts of yourself you believe are unlovable, and quietly asks whether that belief is true.

When it tends to appear

  • When you fear being exposed or judged at your core
  • When an old sense of not-enough is reactivated
  • When you want to hide a part of who you are

Sit with these questions

  1. 1

What part of yourself were you afraid would be seen?

  2. 2

Whose voice taught you that this part was unlovable?

  3. 3

What might change if that part were met with kindness instead?
