How we write, and what we stand behind.

Dream meaning is interpretive, never exact. So we try to be precise about the one thing we can control: where our writing comes from, how AI is involved, and what we refuse to claim.

Where our meanings come from

Every symbol we write about is grounded in the symbolic and psychological traditions that have long helped people read their dreams — the archetypal language of Jung and those after him, recurring cross-cultural motifs, and the emotional patterns that show up again and again in real dreams. We favour the common, lived scenario over the exotic one, and plain language over jargon. The aim is a thoughtful mirror, not a verdict.

How we use AI — and how we don't

We use AI in two open ways: it helps us draft and translate the encyclopedia, and it powers the personal dream reading (built on Anthropic's Claude). A person on our team shapes and reviews this writing — AI never publishes unread, never invents a source, and never adds a medical or predictive claim. Our seven languages are written to read natively, not dumped through a machine and left.

Accuracy, sourcing & corrections

Dream interpretation is not settled science, and we don't pretend otherwise. We revise entries as our understanding improves and show honest dates rather than stamping everything 'today'. If you spot something inaccurate, unclear, or insensitive, tell us — we'll correct it, credit the fix, or remove the claim.

What we will never claim

Dreamtangle is for reflection and curiosity, not diagnosis. We will never present a reading as medical, psychological, or clinical advice, nor as a prediction of the future. Dreams can stir up real and tender things; if something is causing you ongoing distress, please reach out to a qualified professional. We're a companion for noticing — not a substitute for human care.

Independence

Dreamtangle is built and operated by Appinara s.r.o., an independent studio in the Slovak Republic. It is supported by optional paid readings, not by advertising or undisclosed sponsorship — so nothing you read here is shaped by an advertiser. If that ever changes, we'll say so plainly.
